Children, elderly, smokers or passive smokers easily get a cold which may even be more severe, last longer or end up into complications like pneumonia. There are effective vaccine and drugs to combat colds. The utmost prevention to avoid colds is wash hands before and after blowing the nose, cover the nose while coughing and sneezing and avoiding the sharing of towels, toothbrushes and used tissue.  To relieve the symptoms of common colds such as muscle pains, headache and fever, a medicine is recommended to be taken in. Ease cold symptoms by drinking lots of fluids. Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages or alcohol that can cause dehydration and frequent urination. In a few days or weeks colds get to set off, whether one is taking medication or not.  But when colds take longer there may be complications of ear infections, bronchitis and asthma.
