Luckily within the past few years, and even more since the green-age has taken popular shape, have come different colors, such as rainbow and fiesta, blue and now a bright white. With a variety of styles such as lantern, decorative, flood light, tiki type torches and the traditional stick in the ground black style. Wattages for Solar Lights vary depending on company, but can range from 35-100 watts. The cost also varies depending on style, wattage, exterior color and perks such as brass accents etc. Normal costs for a set of 3 range from $29-$69 but you can purchase a single for around $9. Useful and economical as the lesser priced solar lights may be, you like me, will probably want to splurge as exterior lighting is not only ‘free’ electricity but is part of your landscape as well. It can be hidden and obscure or bold and party worthy, depending on your taste. In the end, I highly recommend solar lighting no matter which option you choose. It’s environmentally friendly, basically a one-time expense, a great addition to your landscape design and a good example for your children, neighbors and friends. It’s just the right thing to do.
