Regarding my buddy, his story got even better. The other lady later turned out to be his wife. Yes he proposed like eight months after. I mean why not? He had a his money right, found a beautiful girl and they seemed to get along well. What else do you need right? So now we regularly sit around and just smoke fine romeo y julieta cigars together and drink. I guess you can say we are continuing our tradition.
